Smile…NOT!--Applying Blush Step Three of Four to a Flawless Face

We have all heard to apply blush to the apples of our cheeks while smiling…well I hate to burst your bubble but this is one of the biggest lies in the makeup realm! This method of applying blush is actually a movie and theater trick that is used to make actors appear OLDER. Nevertheless, this method for applying blush can look decent on very young women who have no signs of creasing or wrinkles. But really think about it, the apples of your cheeks are not your cheeks bones (meaning they move) so when you smike they are up high and when you stop smiling they drop and the blush you put one is now closer to your mouth. When the blush appears closer to your mouth you create a drooping effect. Now I don’t know about you but I’ve never hear anyone ask about face products that will help give them that oh-so-sexy sagging look. So now that I’ve probably scared many of you into thinking that you resemble your grandmas I’ll fill you in on a more flattering way to apply your blush: Simply apply your blush to your cheekbones instead. If you put your thumb right above your ear and diagonally place your pointer finger downwards to right under your nose you will be able to feel your cheekbone. Do make sure blend your blush out a little otherwise you’ll have that harsh 80’s vibe going on. I also find it flattering to bring the blush slightly upward towards your temples (this really benefits more mature women who do have some wrinkles and creasing). I hope this has helped and keep an eye out for the final step in this miniseries which will be posted Saturday! Yes: Remember to blend out! The only reason this is so dark and stripy is to illustrate where to place the product.
