When you're trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle eating frequently is important. Food=fuel and when you starve your body bad things happen! Eating every couple hours keeps your metabolism moving and provides you with energy for upcoming activities. You don't what to be fueling your body with the wrong types of foods so here are some good snack options:
Freeze dried foods can be a hit or miss item. When you purchase freeze dried snacks make sure that there is only ONE ingredient. Many freeze dried foods contain LARGE amounts of sugar so you want to make sure to avoid those sugary snacks. I got these at Target for $2.99. They also have strawberry ones but avoid the peach ones because they have added sugar.
RAW almonds are a great snack option! Almonds contain a lot of vitamin E which is Earth's own naturally occurring beauty product. You can find vitamin E added into skin-creams and moisturizers because of its anti-aging effects. Almonds also contain monounsaturated fats which if you can remember back to bio 101 you'd know that those are the good fats that keep you heart and arteries healthy. If you need even more reason to eat them, they are packed with protein. What I like the most about this particular kind though is that they are already packaged into 100 calorie packs which means you can't mess up the serving size and they are easy to take on-the-go!
These are delicious and as far as cereal bars go these are one of the best. In comparison to others they have less sugar and fat.
These are my new favorite snack! I absolutely love these and they're only 99 cents at Trader Joe's. These are vegan and gluten free. These really have no big nutritional selling points other then being low in calories and high in vitamin C but with fall around the corner vitamin C is important because it helps protect against immune system deficiencies.
These are a nice spicy snack! Like most people I crave different types of food on different days. These honestly don't have any amazing nutrition facts but because they are spicy it takes a longer amount of time to eat a small amount and because of that they are the perfect TV snack.
These just put me in the fall mood! Sometimes I'm not really hungry but I really just want to nibble on something. One of these is only 8 calories and 0 grams of sugar! They completely nip my nibblie craving in the butt.
Now there are wimpy granola bars and then there are granola bars that have balls...this one has balls! All natural, gluten and wheat free, dairy free, no GMO (genetically modified organisms), and low sodium. This is a perfect granola bar to eat before a workout. And P.S. this is how your foods ingredient list should look: INGREDIENTS: Almonds, dried coconut, apricots, and honey.
