I love fall fashion! Layering, stacking, and leopard print is big right now so let the madness begin! These are some pieces that I picked up over the past few weeks. In regards to my personal style, I prefer more classic, professional, and clean pieces for the day. At night I tend to go for more edgy or trendy clothing items. Some of my favorite fashion designers are: Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Nine West, Steve Madden, Jeffrey Campbell, and Alexander McQueen. You can see my day-to-night style change just from the designers I love. In regards to where I purchase the majority of my clothing and accessories, my favorite stores are The Limited, Bonton, NY&Co., and Express. I find pieces I like typically everywhere I go but these are my go-to stores. I hope this post gets you excited for the cooler months ahead! Let me know in the comments below what your favorite fall clothing article or accessory is.

Incorporating Trendy Pieces: Trendy pieces can be a lot a fun to play around with. Most trends go in and out of circulation pretty quick which is why I like to splurge on classic pieces and find deals on trendy ones. I'll take an outfit with a few key pieces and spice it up with some fun ones. In the picture below I have two key pieces and two trendy ones. A well fitted blazer and crisp white shirt never go out of style so concentrate on finding ones that fit well. The scarf and watch add trendiness and personality to an otherwise plain outfit. I would pair this outfit with black skinnies and a classic black pump.

Statement Jewelry: I absolutely love big watches and necklaces. Costume jewelry is one of my favorite things to shop for and some of my favorite stores from jewelry include: J. Crew, NY&Co., and The Limited. I find that NY&Co. is the best for watches and J. Crew and The Limited are great for necklaces and bracelets. These stores have reasonable prices on pieces that will last for several seasons. Another thing I really like about these stores in particular is that the jewelry doesn't look cheap. Also, these pieces tend to have some weight to them. So many stores sell costume jewelry now that you don't have to settle for cheap, poorly made pieces anymore! When styling these pieces I like to pair bold necklaces with collard button-downs and dresses. Necklaces can really make an outfit look sophisticated. Watches are very versatile and can easily be paired with most outfits.

Keeping Warm: Nothing says fall like comfy sweaters and cardigans! On the items that I choose to splurge on, I like to buy them in neutral colors because it makes them more versatile. To keep my wardrobe from looking stale I look for interesting patterns. Stripes and geometric shapes are some of my favorite patterns. If you are not a fan of patterns you can always opt for some textured pieces. Sweaters, scarfs, and gloves are all great look great in bold textures. With both pattern and texture just make sure that you pay attention to fit. Sometimes pattern in particular can emphasize trouble areas on women. I strongly recommend trying on all of your clothes before you purchase them.

Boots: Boots are a fall must-have! I have several pairs of boots that I love and these happen to be a new addition to my collection. Everyone should have at least one pair of black and brown boots. I would also recommend getting them in different heights. These are the shortest pair of boots that I have and I love them because they are easy to wear under un-tucked jeans and with dresses. I think they also look a little more sophisticated than knee-highs. Boots can also be paired with decorative socks for some added appeal.
