If you don’t already know what Birchbox is it’s a $10 monthly subscription/membership where hand-picked deluxe sized samples of new and popular makeup and other beauty products are mailed to your door. I have been a member for the past three months and it is literally one of the most ingenious ideas that a cosmetic company could come up with. The samples you receive are far larger than those you receive from Sephora with your member points and I’ve actually received two full size products that I love! There are two main reasons why this is completely worth the money: 1) although you can receive samples from many well-known brands such as NARS, CARGO, benefit, KORRES, laura mercier, Laura Geller, REDKEN, stila, Too Faced, and philosophy, you get the opportunity to try out new brands that I you’ve probably never heard of and 2) you get to try out 4+ new products before you go and buy the full size to see or make sure that you really love it. You can sign up as a member for one month, a year, or there is an option for pay by the month. Let’s do a little math:
This is what I have paid for the past three months that I’ve have been a member: 3 x 10 = $30
This is how much it would have cost me to by the two FULL SIZED products which were included in my Brichboxes: 32 (Laura Geller Blush-N-Brighten) + 18 (stila eyeshadow) = $50
That’s a savings of $20!
As you can see this is totally worth the money. When you sign up as a member you have to fill out a short survey about what you like, and what your skin, hair, and eye color are so you can be sent products that you won’t only love but which will also be the most flattering on you. Each box includes four deluxe sized samples but they will ask if it’s ok for them to also include some one-time-use samples in your box for free (yes…duh!) and you can actually end up receiving six or seven samples in total if you say yes. So if this seems appealing to you, you should definitely look into it. I received my July Birchbox yesterday so I will have a post up tomorrow about what I got and how I’m liking the products so far.
Super cute packaging!
These are just some of the goodies that I haven't finished yet!
