PSA: The Lady-Stache Is NOT Sexy

Let me break this down for you as quickly and simply as possible, the lady mustache (or lady-stache as I like to say) is not sexy and never will be! No matter what your hair color is, light or dark, you should have either an epilator or some wax strips on hand at all times. Now if you don’t already know, an epilator is a modern day torture machine that has a spinning head full of small tweezers that rip your hair out. I have used an epilator in the past and it is very painful; however, if you can bear it out or just get use to it then these little electronic devices can give some very nice results. Personally, I don’t care for them but if you are interested you can find them in most drugstores and in stores such as Target and Wal-Mart for reasonable prices. For me, waxing is the best option. I have tried numerous types of waxing products in the past and these Veet ready-to-use wax strips are my favorites. Each box contains 20 strips and 4 wipes and retail for about $4.00. There are three reasons why I love them:

1)      They are already the right size to wax your upper lip and/or uni-brow area.

2)      You can’t get the wax to hot because you warm them with your hands.

3)      They don’t irritate my skin. Now everyone is different and these may irritate your skin so make sure to conduct a skin test as directed on the back of the box.

First, I rub the strip between my hands for about 30 seconds before I apply it to my face. After I remove the wax strip, I often times will have a spot or two where I didn’t remove all the wax. To fix this I just fold the used side horizontally in half. Both the wax sides will be sandwiched in the middle and you will have two clean sides of the strip paper if that makes any sense. Then, I use the strip paper to lift the remaining wax away. I personally don’t like the wipes so I just don’t use them. Now remember that no matter what brand of wax you use, you will have some redness in the waxed area for a little while. Always use wax strips on clean skin and I would recommend using them at night so you can let your skin breath and not pack makeup on top of your sensitive skin to hide the redness. As always I recommend you do a little bit of your own research if you are interested in this product because I am only one person telling you about my experience with this band. If there's one thing you have learned from this blog post I hope it is that nothing is sexier than powder or sweat glistening form your lady-stache (and if that didn’t totally gross you out I don’t know what will)! Remember to wax that sucker!
